ABOUT MATT

Born and raised in Augusta, husband, father of three, lawyer, and community leader Matt Matson has the experience and energy needed to keep us safe.

A graduate of Davidson Fine Arts School and the University of Georgia, Matson grew up in National Hills and was an active member of St. John United Methodist Church.

After graduating from Mercer University School of Law, Matson was called back to Augusta to clerk for Superior Court Judges J. Carlisle Overstreet and Carl C. Brown, Jr., who modeled judicial temperament and genuine respect for everyone who entered the courtroom.

Years later, Matson joined the Office of the Solicitor General, where he prosecuted a variety of cases every day in court and learned how to juggle an incredible caseload.  Matt earned the respect of local judges, lawyers, and community advocates for his hard work and commitment to the law.

Matt Matson joined the private sector in 2012 and served as in-house counsel for Hull Property Group and later Argos Health. After ten years, he decided to open his law firm so he could continue to help people in our community.

Matt Matson’s wide range of experience in the courtroom, working as a prosecutor and trial lawyer representing companies and our families, has prepared him for the Superior Court bench. He has the legal knowledge to fairly apply the law and will ensure that everyone’s voice is heard.
